External soundcard with ASIO 2.0 support needed

I'm looking to get mobile with my music production but I am on a bit of a budget. I noticed that Creative Labs does not support ASIO on their USB-based X-Fi cards, though (or so their site says). Are there any relatively inexpensive soundcards you guys could point me to, or perhaps a generic external PCIe adapter that I could fit a regular X-Fi card in?

I believe you can use ASIO4ALL with any sound device really if you are on Windows.

Unfortunately, the integrated audio on my HP w/ Beats does not play well with multiple applications trying to use it all at once.

I thought the point of ASIO was only one application can use it at once.

It may have been, but I'm using NI Reaktor/Kontakt/Massive inside of 2 different DAWs. It works great with my X-Fi Titanium card on my desktop, I'm pretty sure its just the Beats integrated audio thats sucking at this.

Creative does support ASIO2 but in their EMU division and not their gaming division. I paid $200.00 for 0404 or you can get 0202 for less.

I see now there is also a newer 0204 but I don't know anything about that model.

Go for the desktop konnekt 6. I got mine for $130 new on ebay and it's been performing like a champ. Sounds great- no audible noise, great stereo imaging, clean/powerful headphone amp. Low latency too- i'm pretty picky and i can play drums on it fine.
