External SATA->USB Drive Enclosures?

I was wondering if anyone knew of an external (not removable) drive enclosure for SATA drives that plugged into a USB connection on the target computer?

I'd like to get an external HD for backups/mass file transfers, but I rather go the upgradable route (enclosure) vs. self contained external.. I'd also like to be a little forward thinking and get an external housing that uses SATA drives, so that I won't invest in something that is already EOL. Having a USB connection as the output would seem logical since USB ports are on all modern computer equipment.

If anyone could point me in the direction of such a product, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Ryan
