Hello All
I have some important orthophotos for a remote sensing company on a Maxtor OneTouch III external raid 1 array. Inside the box are 2, Seagate 7200.10 500gb drives (1TB).
The problem is that the actual controller within the external box has failed. It does not talk with the computer anymore. Firewire nor USB is recognized. I am quite certain that the drives themselves are perfectly untouched as far as data goes.
My question lies in how I can recover the data on there, as we are on a time crunch, in the safest manner possible. I dont know the extent of raid 1 recovery, so hopefully one of you does.
Should I buy a generic raid drive system, and replace the disks with the seagates?
Should I buy another maxtor OneTouch III and put my disks in there?
Should I connect the drives directly to my motherboard and create a raid array using the MOBO drivers?
Should I just connect 1 drive to my computer since they are mirrored and take all the data like so?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
