Hi Everyone,

This might seem odd but I need to power 4 extra 2TB SATA hard drives from outside the computer case, basically I'm looking for a compact power supply designed only to power SATA hard drives, I've been searching the net to see if something like this exists, but so far I haven't had much luck, I would really appreciate it if someone here lets me know if you used or even heard of one.

Many Thanks

Joe:)

specifically for SATA HDs, I doubt it

but they just need 5V and 12V, which you can get from a variety of devices, such as ATX PSUs, multi-rail project PSUs (check a local electronics supplier), two power bricks, etc

could also buy four of those little SATA "holder" things that you plug drives into, or a NAS/backplane box (that'd be a big bulkier, for four drives)

80W 12V brick, picoPSU 90W with a paperclip to leave it permanently on and a splitter will do the job, although you'll need to find a way to make it pretty and hide/protect the pico. :)
