Well, I want a FireWire enclosure, and this is the only one that Best Buy carries. Has anyone had any experience with it?

They sell it for 71, and Dell has it for 59 shipped. Thoughts?

k, i bought it, and it works great. the usb flies, but the freakin firewire port on my 9300 is the tiny one and the cable won't plug into it.

are there adapters that won't diminish the transfer rate? if not i'm taking this thing back and saving 20 for the usb-only version.

Thanks bro...the enclosure's nice. I was really hoping to get power out of the port when I orderd the 9300, but since it's 4-pin I know I won't.

4 pin Firewire ports never provide power... only 6-pins do.

Plus, it would be virtually impossible to spin a 3.5" hard drive with any port.

External hard drives that are bus-powered are 2.5" hard drives.

Yeah...I didn't know the port was a 4-pin until I got the machine last week, but it's no big deal really, it's not like I'll be taking the "external drive" with me when I'm mobile.

Thanks again for the info...
