Can I get some recommendations for some good "bang for the buck" external enclosures with both USB 2.0 and firewire support? It seems I can put one together for much cheaper than the retail externals. I just don't want to get stuck with a crappy enclosure...

Thanks in advance

I'm not convinced that there is any such thing as a crappy enclosure. Mine is some brand I don't even recognize and it's awesome. I love it.

Just make sure it has a fan, so your hard drives don't bake to death.

MaPower 3.5" USB 2.0 + Firewire.

I have its little brother (just the USB 2) one, and they are GREAT. They don't get very hot as all. I was iffy at first because it didn't have any active cooling, and in fact it doesn't even look like it would dissipate heat very well, but the truth is...it does. Great Enclosure. I bought the USB 2.0 just because it was like 20 dollars cheaper.
