External HD suggestions

my mom wants an external hd. She only wants like 10-20 GB. I told her it'd probably be cheaper if you bought one of those external cases and the hd seperate. Can anyone recommend a good/cheap case I should get. I've never done it before, but it seems easy enough.

would it need to be 5.25" to hold a hd?

3.5" is what you want.

5.25" is for CD-Roms and the like.

2.5" is for a laptop drive.

That one is probably better, I just found the cheapest one.
