External HD Sharing Problems

I recently bought a WD 200 gigabyte HD and a Kingwin external HD case. It's connected to my laptop now and I'm trying to share it to another laptop. What's the best way to do this? I tried creating a new local area network but these are both school laptops (me and my roommates, with the school network domain). Is there any way to do this?

If you right click on the drive and go to sharing do you have the ability to creat a new share? If not then you are going to have to contact a network admin at the school and have them do it.

I can create a new share, the two laptops share the same internet connection through a wireless router in our residence room. I'm just trying to see how we can share the external hard drive that is connected to my laptop now.

If you can create a new share when where exactly is your problem?

if you can create a new share on the external drive, the all you have to do is connect to it via the normal methods
