hi,
I have an external hd filled with videos and photos that ive been using for about a year without issue, the other day after plugging the hd i was unable to access the drive, the drive letter appears however after attempting to access the drive my computer freezes, i'm unable to perform chkdsk or sfc scan on the drive.

I've tried different computers, different enclosures & connecting directly. The hd is detected in bios, however if i try to boot with the hard drive connected the pc will hang on the windows splash screen. I tried rebooting into cmd prompt to see if i can access the drive and that will also cause my computer to freeze. I thought the hard drive was scrapped but today i plugged it into my mx2 android tv box and i was able to access/view the photos/videos without issue. I am running windows 10 on my computer and i've tried connecting the device to another computer with windows xp with similar results.

If anyone has any ideas/solutions to this issue i would greatly appreciate it. Thank you :)
