External Hard Drive

Hey. My Dad wants an external Hard Drive for his laptop. He want to be able to to have the thing take an image of his 60GB laptop hard drive once a week or so. He also wants it for around 100$. Is this even possible?


I wish it was a desktop because a RAID 1 would be perfect here.
 
Maxtor has a drive that does the one button backup....but that's over $100.

You could put an enclosure and a drive together for less than $100, but it might not have the image capability(unless you got norton ghost or something to save the image to that drive).

The important thing is to make sure the enclosure's INTERNAL interface matches your HDD.

Has both USB2 and SATA external interface.

Those enclosure are well designed IMO. All mesh sides for airflow, with no fan to make noise or wear out.
Plus the Aluminum sides make contact with the drive thus acting as heatsinks.
