I'm looking for a 3.5" hard drive enclosure (ATA) that has both usb 2.0 and firewire connections, and is under $40 shipped.

And looks purty.

And is driverless for XP/Linux/OSX/other OSes with native support for USB Mass Storage

And preferably is self-powered (No AC cable needed).


Do they make self-powered enclosures? Or do they pretty much all require an AC cable?

Anybody got links to favorite ones? I'm seeing quite a price range here, and I"m curious as to why some of these are like $9 + ripped-off-shipping on ebay, and others are like $100 for what seems to be the same thing...
