External Hard Drive Enclosure

I'm looking to get an external hard drive enclosure for my WD 3.5" MyBook Hard Drive. The MyBook usb and power port on the drive is loose and I have to wiggle it in order to get in to work or turn on.

What are some good low cost hard drive enclosures that will work?

And what am I going to need to do to remove the hard drive and transfer it to the new enclosure?

Any tips and recommendations would be great.

FYI: My 1TB WD Passport a USB3 connector on the HDD instead of a SATA one on the HDD so I don't know what is the case with yours.

My hard drive is only usb 2.0, so im sure once I open it up it will have an adapter to go from sata to usb2.0

Nope. The interface does that.

Some of the newer externals use a really funky interface on the drive itself to try and eliminate this drive swapping stuff.

I have no idea if yours is one of them.

You'll just have to open the case to make sure.

Save yourself from this drama and NEVER buy a premade external drive.
