Hey guys, my PC has been dead for a few weeks now and I haven't bothered to fix it so I go and take out one of the hdds and put it in an external enclosure and hook it up to my laptop. Windows detects the drive in device manager but it won't show in my computer. I check out the Administrative tools section under disk management and it shows up as a dynamic foreign file system and I can't do anything with it. I don't know why it is the way it is I've always had it formatted as NTFS and it worked fine a month or two ago when I did this exact same thing.

Is there any way I can read my data on the drive? Preferrably something from within Windows or something I can do with a 512mb usb flash drive as my optical drive on my laptop is not working. Thanks for any input.

Ok, so I can import it as a simple volume and I can read the data but converting it to a basic disk will wipe the drive clean and I don't have enough space to back up the drive =(
