external driver wont work in Win 7

ok so i have a LG GSA-2166D external drive that wont work in my computer right now.
here is what i have observed

1. drive is seen in device manager
2. Drive is not seen in Disk management
3. there are no drivers online for this device

If anyone has input id greatly appreciate it

i just did but i don't see how these solutions will help because this is for xp not windows 7. most of the solutions have to do with unplugging the drive etc, but my drive is recognized by windows in device manager. it just doesnt show up on my computer for use and wont load CDs on the computer

worth a try anyways.

if those don't work, uninstall your root usb hub, reboot, and let windows re-install the usb driver and hope that fixes it. you're working under the admin account, right? if not, try that, too.

Perhaps a firmware update installed from a PC that sees the drive?!?
