i have a Metal Gear Box external USB2/FW400 HDD enclosure. whenever i use FW i am never able to play movies. i can move data very quickly, but movies freeze. im not sure about music, since i dont use the HDD for music.

the HDD i have in there is a WD 250GB Special Edition drive, approx. 1.5 years old. the enclosure is this one, though mine is an older revision. the chipset on mine is the... well, i cant find any info. if someone could post a link to some freeware that would tell me the chipset, im sure thatd help us all out a lot.

im connected using a 4-pin FW400 on my laptop (HP zd7000). everything runs fine using USB2, but only movies dont work using FW. if this is a known issue w/ my lappy, windows, or enclosure, and theres a fix, id be most grateful to know. thanks!
