I would like to get myself an external hdd for my laptop. I want to use it to hold some music, pictures, documents, and any other really important stuff for backup. Should i buy an enclosure and a hdd? or, should i purchase a prebuilt external system? What should I buy? I would like to keep this around $100 if at all possible.

I've heard good things about the WD MyBook series. FatWallet has some suggestions on external enclosures.
