Hey all,

I have a 20gb IBM Desktar HD in an external case and everything was working fine.

Then one day i turned on the external drive while it was connected to the computer via the USB cable and ever since it spun up while connected to the computer it has been making this grunting sound and it wont let me access the drive.

i've tried to go to the DOS command prompt but when i put in the drive letter it's assigned to it says "file system not recognized or the volume is corrupt." i wanted to fdisk the drive but i cant. i tried to format the drive but it just sits at 0% forever.

it all started when i powered on the external drive while it was connected to the computer(which was on).

Is there any way i can recover my drive?

Mo
