Extending Partitions

I have an 80GB (~74.5 GB binary) drive with two partitions, one 73 GB partition and one 1.5 GB partition. I would like to delete the 1.5 GB partition and extend the 73 GB partition to fill the entire disk.

It sounds like the 'extend' function of the Diskpart utility does exactly what I need. According to the Microsoft Knowledge Base, the intended use of the 'extend' function is for incorporating additional drives into a RAID array. Is it possible, as well as safe, to use it on a single drive?

yup
the diskpart.exe works for both Dyanamic Disks (the mentioned RAID functionality, being a Windows software RAID) and Basic disks, however like Partition Magic, its advisable to have backup, and do one task at a time. ;)

Good Luck
