this is on the computer in my sig.
sorry about the uber n00b question, but thats what i am.

i am running my dual monitors and i downloaded ultramon. but i still have no idea how to get my second monitor to do anything but mirror my main monitor. ive spent a half hour toying with ultramon and i still dont see it. does anyone know how to get dual displays to work as an extended desktop or something of that nature.
thanks for your help.

I assume that your 9200 is a dual head card? If so, download Hydravision? ATI's dual monitor software. Load it up and make it so that your comp sees both heads as seperate vid cards. Then let ultramon do the work.

You don't need any special software to do this, if you have a dual output ATI vid card (which according to ATI a 9200 is). Just go to display properties and select your second monitor and there is checkbox to extend my windows desktop onto this monitor. check it and your done. I did this without Hydravision. Other software like Hydravision and Ultramon just give you extra features/control, which you may or may not need.

great, thanks for the help. i am using ultra mon and its working. but i still have a problem.

im already loving my extended desktop, but its running kind of weird. it is displaying a resolution too high for itself or something. when i resize my desktop through windows it wont change the size of the 2nd monitor, it will just change the size of the background on the 2nd. so when i move my mouse over to the a corner of the screen on my 2nd the screen will scroll in that direction to reveal about 50% more screen. i dont like this because when i maximize a program on the monitor i can only see half if it.

if anyone needs more info just ask and i will be sure to give more details. thanks for ur posts so far.
