I have Windows XP SP2 with all updates. Often, but not always, when I shutdown I get the end task dialog box because explorer.exe isn't ending fast enough. It ends within a few seconds, maybe thirty, but it is still aggravating. Anyone know how to fix it?

Nope. I can't see any services hanging, either. I can force everything on the desktop closed with a registry change, and it has no effect. Also, I have an extremely short HijackThis log. Actually, the machine is very lean. There are no exotic drivers, and the nvidea card driver hang doesn't exist because I have a plain jane ATI card. Only explorer.exe is affected.
