Umm...there's no way that the original energy that the kid put into moving the stick multiplied to the point of raising the stack of sticks that high.
Sorry, I'm not a science type...maybe someone could explain it better.

Awesome. Best thing I've seen all day.
Makes sense as that's how a bow and arrow works. ...but I'd still assume (without any actual data) at the minimal angle that those sticks were bent, it still wouldn't be enough to not only counteract the weight of the sticks in front of it, but to also raise it that high in the air counteracting gravity. The sticks were arranged in a way to have a lot of tension, the kid did not add any energy, he released it.
There is fishing line. You can see it between 15-19 seconds in.
Judging by the amount of popsicle sticks there were, that kid will have diabetes soon.
Pretty awesome, though.
hahaha. pretty sure you can buy popsicle sticks with the popsicle already detached. they have a big factory somewhere to de-popsicle them.
That's totally what I was thinking too. If you tack the line underneath with a light adhesive and then create a guide on the ceiling, it'd create the effect and explain why the sticks jumped up so high.
A contestant on AGT did the same thing this year. It's realz...
Yea bro, that elaborate fishing line and ceiling guide conspiracy theory sure sounds more plausible than bending a bunch of sticks in just the right way.
Took me a sec to find it but here is the guy I was talking abouts website http://www.lunatim.com/
