Explain to me what this means...

I have a western digital 36gb raptor as my primary drive with windows on it. All of the sudden my "My Pictures" folder appears empty. All my spring break photos just disappeared. I did a search for *.jpg and the search found some images in the folder, but they appear broken. If you click on them it says it can't locate the file. Is my raptor dieing?
 
Nothing. I also ran a file recovery program on it and the files are just gone. This is a bitch. I lost 200 pictures from spring break and a bunch of pictures of my boston terrier :mad: .
 
You did not state what OS you are using. If it is XP and you have system restore runing. Try doing a restore back a month or so and see if the pic's show then.

I remember something about XP doing cleanup of unused items. It might have ate them. I don't remember what it did with the cleanup items.
