Hi guys,

I noticed the Xigmatech MC NRP-MC751 PSU when doing a bit of shopping, and wondered if anyone had it. I haven't seen it reviewed, so I've heard only rumors (some have said it's a CWT-built unit similar to Corsair's TX line). Currently, I'm running an Antec Neo 550HE (Seasonic-built), supporting the following:

Intel Q6600
Gigabyte G45-UD3P
4GB DDR2 (2 x 2GB G.Skill)
2x 500GB HDD, 1x 1TB HDD, two opticals, floppy (yes, still use them for working on others' older systems)
Radeon 4850, Hauppauge PCIe tuner card, X-Fi XtremeGamer
4x 120mm fans

I may eventually add a second 4850 for Crossfire. I don't want to spend a ton, but I do want a modular unit, and this one seems ideal. Anybody have any experience with this unit?

It is a CWT PSH-750. A review should be forth coming in a bit.

Thanks, Paul. I know your review with the 850w unit didn't go very well, but at the same time (puzzling when you consider other PSH units seem to be okay), but since this is a different unit, I figured experiences might be different.

Looking forward to your review. If it's a good unit it looks like a relative bargain.

Well the problems with the PSH-850 were supposedly found and fixed. Xigmatek never exactly told me what they were, but Corsair is using the new fixed platform in the TX850 (slightly modified with the solid secondary cap) and it did ok.

I would have been interested in the Corsair if it was modular. With the Xigmatek being $25-30 cheaper, and having the modular cables, that makes it seem like more of a deal yet. Can't wait to see your review.

In a quirk of fate, one of these 750w models just came up on Craigslist, NIB, for $80. I'm going to take the gamble and snap it up, since that's $45 below NewEgg price.

Still hope to see the review, Paul, and thanks for your time.
