Expanding storage need your help

Hi Hard forum,

Long time. So I have this server running with freenas in a few days (I have attached the parts list link). I am looking to connect a a new case that is dedicated to HDDs (for the purpose of expansion) to the current server (both will be side by side each other)

I am not sure how to do that.

Simplest way would be to get SAS HBA with external ports in the main chassis and a SAS expander and one of these in place of a motherboard in the second chassis: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816101800 (cheaper on eBay)

After that, you just need some SAS cables and adapters to make it work. Should be doable for $300ish total.
