• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

If a user account is disabled in AD, would that also disable their exchange mail account?

Well here is my situation. I have a user that has left the company but may come back. Management said delete their account so they dont see them on the Global Address List and so they could no longer use the e-mail account.

If i delete it, I know it will go away, but is there a way to disable it so its still there but managment thinks they are gone, until im sure they are never coming back?

EDIT: this is Wink2k3 EE with Exchange 2k3

Easy- just to use AD user's properties, click Exchange Advanced, and select "hide from Exchange Address list". This will hide user from GAL. You should also disable the account if the user is not there- not remove, just disable.

I figured it was easy.
I didnt want to remove it either because i know what kind of trouble that can start :)

So disabling and hiding from GAL will keep them from being able to actually use the account?

Yes and no.... if they have a pc with Outlook already configured, they will continue to be able to use it. But, if they're no longer in the office, that shouldn't be a concern. It will however prevent them from configuring on another PC, as well as OWA if you utilize it.
