Hi, I have a remote user that is connecting Outlook 2007 to an Exchange 2003 box with rfc over http. Since yesterday he has been getting intermittent "connection to exchange has been lost. Outlook will restore the connection when possible". Event ID 26 is also being logged. I duplicated the settings on my Outlook 2010 and also get the same issue. Local users have not notified me of any issue. OWA seems to work at the same time Outlook does not. The server doesn't show any errors regarding exchange in the event logs. It is a pretty old server and old network equipment. I'm leaning towards network equipment starting to fail. I've been trying to get the client to upgrade his network and move his email to BPOS but with the economy slow, he is hesitant. Thoughts?

Server 2003 Standard
Exchange 2003 Version: 6.5.7638.1
Linksys BEFSX41
Netgear something or other 24port switch

Have you checked to ensure that all your exchange services are up and running correctly? You don't have a problem with your cert either do you?

If it's an old server...sometimes Outlook over http sessions will push the https sessions of a limit, where restarting IIS services can clear up the issue (or simply you can reboot the server). Are there quite a few Outlook Anywhere users? Or just this one?

Yes all services are running. First thing I did was restart the services. Cert is still good.

There might be 1 or 2 more users but only this one has called about the issue. Let me try restarting IIS.
