Any issues known running (2) GTX590's on a EVGA X58 Classified3 mobo? Says it can run dual or tri sli, but would 2 590 card technically be quad sli?

My first thought is that it will see the 590's as just 2 single cards and not be an issue, but I am not sure if there is more to it that I am not knowledgable about.

Yup, it will work. A single 590 doesn't even require an SLI compatible board. Two 590s just need a board that can do SLI.

Dual/tri/quad SLI/crossfire really refers to the number of discrete cards it can run together, not the number of GPU's.
