I had discussions with nathan_p on this

Just had a talk with troy8d

current contest format
https://sites.google.com/site/timezonechallenge/

this will change under inter-team (you fold under your own team number)
prizes are internal for moment
your team captains can talk to us about this

we would be willing to implement inter-team play now if you wish
(you fold for your team {H} ) put we use your EOC to collect stats for the Timezones

so you be fighting your bros/sisters/fellow members from your other timezones

we need to know ASAP
we can delay the contest to get other teams onboard

OCF had indicated some interest too

Ill be posting this on their forums too

if you wish to delay/wait til next year we understand or not wishing to join that's fine
(feeling inter-team contest wreck things ...we understand that too)

so this is up to you guys

your team loses nothing - points still go to your team
all that is gained if friendship , a little fun and some slagfest even against your own members

if you guys wish I was not chattering some babble and coming here to wreck your harmonious forums then nathan_p or kendrak can banish me to some belching pot of goo

I just wish we had more time to work this out with nathan and some of your leaders before hand

talk quick and get a hold of us at EVGA

contest start was nov 15th
we are willing to delay for a few days

Thank you kindly for the invite.

I am not sure if this would be good for the team. The potential for shens going awry is too great.

Have fun, I'm sure a number of us will be spectating.

If however we solve this wanting to crush in each others sculls thing, could be fun ;)

you and me both wish the teams would bury the animosity for a change

#1 you not competeing against EVGA or OCF or OCN
your competing against different Timezones which your own members reside

no different than internal slagfests,shootouts

#2 we aren't forcing anyone
you are uncomfortable or hate anything with EVGA then don't join
this is about inter-team contest - that has nothing to do with teams for a change (thank god)

#3 have fun... make friends... I did with adak(OCF) at the CC
the spirit is to create friendship... not create enemies

we get angry by looking at the daily stats and seeing one team gain over another.
that's enough

Let me see if i can break it down:

Basically we just say we want to participate, and our time zone. We maintain within Team 33 folding. Someone/thing on your end does tallying of points of all those in the contest, on a per-team basis.

Or are you making it like: East Cost EVGA, East Coast [H], East Coast OCF ?

EST,PST,MST,PST and that's it

we'll need your individual EOC's too (yes we have someone who does this - collect stats)

so you be folding for a certain timezone only
so you be competing against your own team and others, OCN,EVGA,etc (in a particular timezone)

we'll have a chat channel (usually do), sling mud at us or your own teammates

quite honestly it's not about winning..it's about fun
I haven't won any title (in any contest) and don't care about that

Im on MST - smallest population zone so low turnout (although we have some mighty guns there)
only help we get is from other Timezone
others gets placed in low ppd teams to level things out

we'd like to make this more permanent next year
we need you guys talk to us.. we will plan it more for next year
you can have internal prizes if you want next year (maybe work on joint giveaway with the teams)

we like good turnout to make this happen
if it doesn't happen this year we will work on next year

So, nothing change in settings at all?
It's simply tell you guys (EVGA) we're in for the contest and let you know certain (required) info (username, folding id, folding team, and time zone)?

If so, i'm in :D

You really don't need the folding team either, do you? I mean, it is easy enough to find out based on folding name or ID, but for the purpose of what you are proposing, it doesn't matter. No F@H team actually participates. It is more of a team being an advertising medium to get more individuals to participate.

I personally don't have a problem with this, but I also don't see the point of it and will not be participating. If anyone wants to from [H], go for it. I don't see any harm in it.

If I am mistaken , this is kinda open to all US cont. folders. Only divided into 4 "teams" - EST, PST, CST. MST. It shows which timezone has MORE folding "power". It is just happen to be EVGA hosts this contest. Right?

In the registration form, it asks for eVGA's username .. So, if I want to participate, i HAVE to join evga forum?

let me talk to troy to get more info
we have a few days - maybe more if we extend the deadline and delay the start date

the username was for prize(s) internal
so we can contact for donations and distribution

it's just that folding names aren't usually the same as the forum name at EVGA
I'll post back when I get more info

contest is open to all timezones (anything outside the 4 is... other TZ)
primarily in the past we got so few others(from outside Americas..ie europe, asia,AU,etc) that it couldn't constitute a team

just that anyone from the other time zones was placed in teams with low PPD to make a race of it

ya just sign up with your [H] username

will sort it out on our end

if the turnout is low from the other teams we might just go with the start date as is
if people start signup in numbers we probably extend

Hope to see some of you in the Time Zone Challenge. If you're ready for a very simple contest that doesn't carry any of the issues that we so often see with the annual "_____ _________" I won't even say the words here out of respect, then come on over and play. I've often thought it would be great for us to get together where Folding team rivalry isn't a factor. No problems either if it 's not your "cup of tea", but I hope some of you can come. It is my favorite contest of the year and a great way to get some production up for Folding.

That was the previous contest. This time, they are opening it to other teams if I understand correctly.

You must fold under your own folding name for team 111065

ignore that (only for prizes)...need that to qualify for prizes only - prizes are EVGA team only
(be hardly fair if EVGA members donated prizes and they all went to teams that didn't donate anything)

next year we can work with your team leaders to offer prize pools for each team and 1 common prize pool if you wish

we didn't have time to change rules on the webpage and troy can make exceptions for individuals

anyways you can use your user name, folding name, your team number and your EOC number

Just trying to make friends and compete on the same team for once (with in time zones of course).
We found that we tend to push our gear harder and longer when were in a contest, the big winner is the project which we can agree that's why we're here.

sounds fun

good way to back down from the rhetoric too

cheap West coast power FTW bitchez

Sorry for the last minute notification, it just makes it more interesting..

All you have to do is register on the site, if you don't have a EVGA account, use your [H]ardForum account, I understand we will sort it out. (Although you likely will need an account to post your comments or smack talk to the forum, but not required.) The registration is needed for all the stats and charts building. Other notables is the contest prize pool, will only be available to EVGA folders, sorry.

It should be alot of fun, if your on the Eastern Standard Time (EST) as we plan to Dominate! :D

Here is a information sent my team Eastern Team

You do realise there are other regions on the planet other than the US right? :)

yes we know that
In previous years there was so few from outside North America/South America that it wasn't worth doing 1 or 2 people from each TZ other than those 4 (nor would it be fair)

and this precludes Hawaii and Alaska (ATZ)

everyone else goes into Other Time zone and you get placed into one of the lower PPD teams

if the numbers indicate that a timezone outside NA\SA can put up a competing team we can add it the next years contest

since turnout low
deadline fixed at 9pm nov 15 (unless troy changes that again)

It's nice having the few from[H] hope they have fun and we do this again next year with a bit more organization

wth ..hahahaha...

Triggered by the OS, probably due to overclocking/overheating or a memory failure
If it wasn't overheat or not enough vcore due to unstable incoming voltage.
I would reboot, hold the shift key to grub menu, choose memtestx86 and test ram for a few % coverage to see if I have a bad ram stick somewhere.
