i emailed their customer service last night, this morning i got the response and it says that i need to call them between 9-5 PST so we can change my step up card to one of more value

what confuses me, is when i stepped up, there was no MSRP on any of the 7900's, it said "CALL for price" so i did, and customer service couldn't tell me the MSRP either but i was 91 days after my original purchase and that they would extent me one day but i had to submit now, so i just chose the regular 7900GT thinking EVGA MSRP would end up $50 over what Newegg was selling them for........then a couple days later i see 7900GT at $299 MSRP

so my thing is, the CO Superclock model still has no MSRP, and i assume it will be the only one likely to be at a higher value, so i dont see how they can change it now if MSRP is still undetermined. i really didn't want to go for the 7900GTX, 1. because it would cost me $140 + shipping both ways to get it, and 2. because the GT models typically overclock to GTX performance levels so i think the highest cards are overpriced.......

oh well, now i have to call them and figure out what we are to do, i might just go to the GTX, heck, that's getting a 7900GTX EGS for $140 + shipping, still a good deal in this case

whats there to confirm? the 7900gt has the same 24 pipes and a higher core/ memory clock. they are also slightly more efficient, use less power and create less heat. the proof is on paper and in the reviews. the 7800gtx 512 is slightly faster perhaps this is what you are thinking of. although at the vrzone review the 7900gt ties the 512 gtx in f.e.a.r.


it is kind of a bummer that you need to go with the most expensive gt or a gtx but at least your getting so much for your card now. if you had to sell it retail like someone with an xfx, or bfg than you would see mabey $220 minus shipping charges to put twords a new generation card. i have not seen 1 gt do stock gtx clocks yet, if you volt modded you might come close. over at xtremesystems there are a few volt modded 7900gt's and the havent seen more than 610 core. still alittle shy of gtx speeds and you need an aftermarket cooler to run anything more than stock volts as the cards get to hot and crash.

the gtx finally has the performance leap to almost deserve the cost. i think 500 is to expensive but with the amount im getting for my gt (less than you are as well) im still gunna really get it for just over $400. thats a pretty good deal for the money.

my EVGA N518 7800GT, the base model went from 445/1070 to 530/1260 stock out of the box, at those speeds it was pretty much running with 7800GTX's with one less quad, that's why i say i think i would just rather have the 7900GT, not the Superclocked model or GTX
 
I'm stepping up from my 7800GT to a 7900GT. Gonna cost me $16 plus shipping. Not too shabby I'd say. I'm curious how long it's going to take for me to get one though.

I paid $284 for my 7800GT from Newegg in December. The 7900GT has an MSRP of $299. So I guess it's more like $15...

Smaller process, less heat, smaller card (cramped case), faster, I am 178 in the upgrade queue!
They just put up prices tonight on evga.com, I paid $304 from newegg for my 7800gt, $319 for the 7900GT CO, I pay $15 plus shipping for a nice 10-20% upgrade. Great deal I think, now to wait and then do without my card for a while....
 
well, all i can say is EVGA's Customer Service is great, i had a serious problem with stepping up, and a few emails and phone calls later, and it's all straightened out now

going from a 7800GT to a 7900GTX EGS for $140 + shipping, good deal
