Well its official, The EVGA step up program works flawlessly.

Total turn around is 7 days for me (two day shipping both ways)

Buy your card from these guys........they do exactly what they say they are going to do.

Ive bought EVGA GeForce 6800 128 from www.zipzoomfly.com for like $284 free 2 days including shipping and 5CD Far Cry game. And got like 8500 scores on my 3D Mark 2003. And i m happy with EVGA. -Hail McRay-

Step Up, you buy a 6800nu, then return it later to eVGA with an extra $100 and get a GT. Basically you can upgrade your card by returning your old one and adding some extra $$$

u send ur old eVGA card to them and they send u whatever top of the line one u want provided u pay the difference

Exactly :D Its a great program and they a very good people. My buying experience has been the best I have ever experienced. I am a customer for life.

ooooooh STEP up. Teaches me to read more carefully. That is really neat, I wonder if BFG would be kind enough to follow suit....

Well since I paid about $600 for my eVga 6800 Ultra that means I can step up to a 6800 Ultra Extreme Edition ?

It may even cost less than $600 from them in which case they would owe me money :D

im getting ready to do that as well....trade in my nu for a gt; did you ship everything back to them (including the far cry game)? what exactly did you get back from them...a brand new sealed gt box (far cry game included)??

Well I have to agree that they are a great company as well I ordered a 6800GT from them direct for $399 they had them when no one else did and it came 2 days later and has been a great card. I also think the step-up program is cool, but I love my GT so much I dont need to use step-up. :D

Step-Up the main reason I went with eVGA in the first place. Than I saw how my GT OCed and said screw it...but original this GT was supposed to tide me over until the Ultra hit retail.

I ordered my eVGA GeForce 6800 GT through one of their discount programs and am droolingly awaiting its arrival, which should be tomorrow :D I've had good experience with their cards in the past, they tend to ship high quality no-frills cards that don't have any riceburner add-ons or gimmicks. Bundling FarCry is pretty cool too, in my book.

So I'm guessing this means, if I had the 6800 Ultra Extreme Edition, that the next time they came out with a better version I pay the difference and they give me say the Nvidia 7800 Ultra Extreme Edition? Just using the next number as an example. If so, I will buy the best card they have.

I believe it states you have to do the step-up within 90 days of purchase.

That and you can only use it once.... period. I just sent my 6800GT back and am waiting for the 6800Ultra.

I hope they send it soon, I'm using a Ti4600 because I don't want to install ATI drivers for a week or so to run my old 9700Pro.

I'm still debating wether I should send in my GT for an Ultra....the money isn't that big of a deal but I don't know if I'll survive a week going back to the only extra card I have right now. (Ti4200) :p

How high can you OC your GT?

Right now I'm not pushing my luck so I have it at 400/1100 (summertime in Texas) but if I keep it through the winter I'll stretch her legs a bit.

Hmmmm

If there are any Canadian residents that have ordered from eVGA, and if so can you say how much the duty charges were if any?

Their prices are unbeatable, and the step-up program is exactly what I need at this point, but if it means paying ridiculous duty fees twice in a row, then I can't afford it.

[edit]

I just called them up, very helpful. He says that they have had calls from Canadian customers complaining about the duty charges. However, the guy says they have an RMA department in Canada, which might be the answer. He said he'd see what he can do and call me back. I like them already, I hope they can hook me up.

Yeah, there was a Canuck a while back that posted he ordered from eVGA...I can't remember exactly but I think it was somewhere around 40-$50 usd? He said it was still cheaper than buying locally though.

edit- here's the thread..http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=783210 forget the amount I listed above, I don't know where I pulled that from.

i got my ultra, im waiting tell i get my PCI-Express mobo to send mine in.

WOOT!!!

You need to have purchased it direct or from a participating distribution source. Only those who pay attention to msrp usualy get approved to participate

The Exstream eddition can only be had via a drawing. I did put my name in

yes you have to save the box and all material or your hosed. I already had far cry so i did not ask if that was required to send back.

Indeed, my Gt did 400/1100 with ease but i want dual dvi , better cooling and more power.

I suspect 450 /1200 will doable with my Ultra. I get her tommorrow so sometime this weeked i will find out.

As long as it was withing 90 days of purchase , yes

Fear not it takes them 3 days to turnaround the cards and they are shooting to reduce that. I used 2 day shipping both ways and the total turnaround was 7 days

Lets see

GT over nighted 440
Ultra step up 136 (including shipping)

Used the Gt for over a month for

Total cost $576.00 hm still cheaper than most sites selling this baby

Damn, leave it to me to lose my invoice. I wonder if I can just print out the purchase confirmation email? I will have to call them tomorrow and beg.

Fear not, my kid lost mine and so I called them and bang no problem. That will only work if you purchased it direct from them.

Whats also cool is the fact that if its past the 90 days or not fully functional, it seems you can still trade it in, but your credit is reduced by 15%. Still a great insentive to by from them.

Why are you switching from GT to Ultra?

Probably because eVGA advertises 1.6ns gddr3 ram as opposed to the 2.0ns on the GT....I'm thinking of doing the same.

edit- anyone with a eVGA Ultra can confirm the 1.6ns?
