here's a nice program ... if u got an eVga recently

Participants will be allowed, for one time only, to trade in their existing eVGA.com video card and upgrade to the newest and greatest currently available. eVGA stepup program

Not terrible, but it looks like the price difference will be MSRP for the new card and the credit you get is the actual/after rebate price. If you don't keep the original box and all accessories, you also get charged a 15% fee.

So they'll take the video card you bought... give it a money value, then you pay the difference for a spanking new eVGA 5950 ultra?

yes but the way i understand it, if u payed 75 dollars for ur card then u get 75 dollars off the price of the 5950. so u still gotta pay the difference.

Well, it beats selling your card on eBay for less and then having to buy the newer card.

this is a little off topic. But how does eVGA compare to the other nvidia card makers. I know that my shot in the dark chaintech I bought overclocks like a beast, but in benchmarks, the eVGA are usually pretty good. What have you found.

BTW, I do think that this actually a good idea, but what do they get out of taking back all these cards, just reselling them and not having to manufacture more or something?

evga is a ripoff company. they claim to offer a lifetime warrenty, buts only as long as they sell that card.
