Evga Geforce 6800GT Problem

I just got a Evga Geforce 6800GT about 2 weeks ago. The first week that I used it I had no problems with it. About 3 days ago, I was running Toca Race Driver 2 and all of a sudden the screen blanks out. Then the screen fills with small multi-colored blocks that are flashing on and off. So I shut my computer down and the next morning when I turn it on, it still has the flashing multi-colored blocks and won't start. I tried powering the computer down and restarting and nothing would help. Finally I decided to remove the card and reinsert it. That fixed it and then it started working fine. I don't know what was wrong with it because it was inserted and seated good in the slot on the motherboard both times. I still have a little bit of graphic corruption on the windows desktop and browser window. What could be wrong with this video card? I have a 550 watt power supply, so I don't think that could be the problem. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

the blocks indicated overheating frame buffer memory. Are you over clocking?

your problem is overheating of the memory chips. First, reinstall the drivers; that sometimes gets rid of the lingering corruption in windows. Second, put a fan over the card. IF those dont fix the problems, rma the card, since you did nothing wrong.

I have done no overclocking. I also have about 7 case fans. Do you still think it is overheating?

Then it is possible something may be wrong with the actual heatsink. RMA.

What is the normal temperature reading for this card? Mine runs around 55C.
