EVGA 9800gx2 problems?

Iam building my new pc and yes iam a noob.Also my english sux.

Iam planning to get 9800gx2
You guys found any problems with this card? Driver problem,Compatibility problem?
Or just work with all games without any issues?

Iam just conserm because they are 2 cards in one slot.
Any comments would be thankfull.
 
If you are interested, i'm selling my evga 9800gx2. I didnt have any issues with it, i just decided i dont need quad SLI.
 
I have had no problems whatsoever with my GX2. Works great for any game I've thrown at it, including Crysis. Driver compatibility has been good too, I am currently using the 175.63 beta (XP 32). It worked fine with the 174.74 and 88's, the 175.63 runs very smooth.
The card does put out a fair bit of heat, but I run the fan at 100% which keeps the temps. at a reasonable level, using either Rivatuner or EVGA Precision. You need to make sure you have a compatible power supply with the 6 and 8 pin connectors, the PCP&C 750 Silencer is compatible and works well with it.:cool:
 
Heh..."fair bit of heat". It got cold again last weekend, so i tossed the quad sli back in the machine to mess around with it a bit. My computer was putting out more heat than the small space heater i have. 4 gpus running at 80C = warm room :) Quad SLI is definately meant for people who live in cold climates.
 
how many amps are available on the 12v rail? i believe you need at least 40.
 
rainbow six vegas 2 won't work well on the gx2 or any multi gpu nvidia set up right now. you'll see intermittent artifacts in xp and vista. i don't know if the same problem exists for ati multi gpu because my crossfire rigs are all in a state of disrepair right now.

do you mean artifacts in vegas 2, wheter your on xp or vista? i do not see any artifacts in vista itself.

This is true, of the 174 drivers. The issue is corrected in the 175 releases, which have been available for almost a week. My 9800gx2 is using the beta 175.12 at the moment (though new 175.63 or whatever drivers are already available) and R6V2 runs perfectly with no more artifacts.

It is totally unplayable in any 174.XX driver version though, don't use them.

I've played Crysis and Oblivion. Both run great and I love setting everything to max while playing Oblivion. Crysis looks absolutely amazing. I was worried that it would make a lot of noise, but it has been reasonable. I'm using the Corsair 750tx and it works fine. As far as I'm concerned, SLI + Intel chipset = best of both worlds.
