678 on the core out of the box and 219usd with rebate. Like the 9800 it has a lifetime warranty and support for end user overclocking. The 9800GTX may OC a little further and nothing is guaranteed.

Well if your thinking of steping up then I would get the highest one. That way you have more toward your step up later. If your not I would get the 299 one.

The 299 is the one I got in my machine. It can hit the clocks the high one has. Its your choice.

that overclocked GTS 512 is a sweet deal and all but if you can get a stock one cheaper go for it. my vanilla card does 800/2000/1100 so dont think the pre overclocked cards are anything special.

If you have to get a GTX, just get the non OC'd model. Mine runs 840/2020/1235 without problems. I can probably clock it farther, but I know these clocks are completely stable
