I just recieved my Evga 7950GX2 yesterday and up until know everything was working like a charm. This morning I decided to benchmark with 3dMark06 and for some strange reason the program hangs at the opening screen and then crashes. I am using 06' version 1.02 Free. Next I decided to see if 05' would run and it did. My score was 10,572. Score seems a bit low to me but I know its from the extreme bottleneck my CPU is creating. Here are the steps I took when installing the card.

1. Un-installed the old video card drivers
2 Re-booted in safe mode.
3 Ran driver cleaner pro
4. Re-boot
5. Installed nvidia's 91.48 drivers

I dont think it's the video card which is causing the crash, but I could be wrong. Just to rule out drivers I tryed nvidia's 91.47 drivers and 3dMark06' still BSOD.

Video Card 3d Settings:

AF - App. Controlled
Antistropic mip filter optimization - Off
Antistropic sample optimization - Off
AA Settings - App. Controlled
Conformant texture clamp - Use Hardware
Extenstion limit - Off
Force mipmaps - None
Gama Correct AA - off
Hardware accelereation - single display performance (this was on multi-display perf. mode)
Multi-GPU Performance Mode (Nvidia Reccomended default value) ?? this correct ??
Negative LOD bias - allow
Texture filtering - High Quality
Transparency AA- Off
Trilinear optimization - On
Triple buffering - Off
Vertical Sync - 3d app. setting

Now on to the BSOD information:

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT LESS_ OR_EQUAL

STOP: 0x00000001 (0x00EE5881, 0x0000002, 0x000000000, 0xBAC80C41)

USBSTOR.SYS - Address BAC80C41 Base at BAC80000 , date stamp 41107d6c

Right, so this leads me to believe it is a USB storge driver error. Why in gods name would a USB storrage driver error effect 3dMark06 on start up?

Next I tried to troubleshoot a possible USB Driver Issue. I went to ULi's website and made sure I had the latest USB 2.0 drivers, although I shouldnt need them since Win Xp SP2 has USB 2.0 drivers. Besides the fact, I installed Uli's integrated 1695 chipset USB 2.0 drivers and that changed nothing. Still get the BSOD when I try and start 06'.

MB Specs:

AsRock 939 Dual SataII - (Bios 2.2)
Uli 1695 Chipset - (Integrated 2.2 drivers) .

- ULi AGP driver (un-installed)
- PCI-E bios setting selected

Could someone Please Help me. If this is in the wrong sub forum, I'm sorry.

Thanks in advance,

Scott

No one can help me :(

*** Problem Solved****

It was either a Sony USB External DVD/RW Drive or a USB Treo 700P cradle.
