Having just tore it out of the package and plugged it in scored:

7695 3DMarks in 3dMark05

System specs are in the sig. Nothing OC'd yet. Going to work on it here in a bit.

Thats with Gamma Correct AA on and Tranparency AA set to Multi. Not sure if it makes a difference.

the TR MSAA will take a slight performance hit making your 3dmark score a tad lower if you have AA enabled, if that matters, heh.

TR AA only works when you have AA enabled at 2X, 4X or 8xS.

In gameplay though it is not a noticeable hit and is well worth enabling for the best IQ in games.

got any pics kevlar? How did you afford that card, lol... i could never justify spending that much on a video card, sadly :(

Two words...

Credit Card...this is my splurge purchase for the next 24 months.

I don't know...maybe it's just me but I think you should be getting higher than 7695...shouldn't you?

No, thats what all the recent reviews have been showing for 3dmark05. Seems between 7600-7800 depending on your processor. I think nvidia will be releasing an ultra version otherwise they wouldn't have named it GTX. They would have name it ultra if it was the only 7800 they were releasing. I believe the next 7800 release will have higher clock maybe and the rumored 32 pipelines. That'll be the SLI beater right there. But in all other terms, this is a SUPER UBER card and is the closest thing to a single slot SLI competitor. Awesome card dude and show us some overclocked benches PLEASE!!! :D :D

I reran the test turning off a bunch of stuff running in the background and came up with 7770 3dMarks.

As far as OC'ing goes, I can't seem to find the OC slider under the nVidia settings. Whats a good 3rd party proggy to use?

I've been playng BF at 1600x1200 with 2xaa and 8xaf on with all setting on high except 2...effects quality and lighting at medium. It runs smooth like butter on these settings even on 64 person servers in heavy fighting.

First of all congratulations, you are the first person with a 7800 GTX to be entered onto the list!

Download Coolbits it is the easiest to install.
Just run it, click ok and open up you brand new Nvidia control panel!

Also Powerstrip is a really good program for overclocking and changing image settings.

Powerstrip is good but I've yet to find a program that works well when you have a setup like me where the stock is what you want to run it at in 2d and about 100mhz higher is what you want to run it at in 3d. Ever powerstrip doesn't do it, it doesn't allow a 100mhz OC... which is kinda contradictory...

Actually I lie, Rivatuner worked just fine for that. However, it doesn't have the cool pressing 3 buttons to change the clock automatically thing that powerstrip does.

Okay I did that.....

OC'd FSB by 5% CPU running at 2140Mhz
7800GTX Core - 470 Mhz
7800GTX Memory - 1.27 GHz

Result = 7947 3dMarks '05

Coolbits allows you to adjust the clocks seperately for 2D and 3D.................

You are really close to having the highest scoring single card in [H]ard|Forum's history.
Here is the only score in your way from ultimate bragging rights.

User------------------Score---Card-------OC---------Driver
James Earl Ray--8,152---X850 XT---714/645--5.3

dude you guys are just asking him to blow up his 600 dollar card by tempting him like that

Hell yes! Mine won't see the sight of my computer before the cuplex waterblock is applied

I'd OC your cpu first... see how much it's bottlenecking the card. But honestly... 76xx with a 3200+ ? Didn't the preliminary benches show 77xx with a fx-55 or something.
