NF63-TR (Now called 680i SLI SE) / NF68-TR / NF68-AR are all the same motherboard physically, only the bundle and warranty change. NF63-TR are the old NF68-TR/AR with a new sticker put on top of the old part number to sell them as non-quadcore overclocking boards, hello cutting lost on unsold bugged board...
NF68-T1 and NF68-A1 are the same board, only the bundle and warranty change.
NF63-TR = 2 year warranty, small bundle of cable, no support for quad core overclocking, you CAN'T RMA it for a free upgrade to NF68-T1.
NF68-TR = 2 year warranty, small bundle of cable, no support for quad core overclocking, you CAN RMA it for a free upgrade to NF68-T1.
NF63-T1 = 2 year warranty, small bundle of cable, support quad core overclocking.
NF68-AR = Limited lifetime warranty, full bundle of cable, no support for quad core overclocking, you CAN RMA it for a free upgrade to NF68-A1.
NF68-A1 = Limited lifetime warranty, full bundle of cable, support quad core overclocking.
If you are not running a quad core AND trying to overclock they perform the same. if you want to overclock a quad core you need one with the number 1 at the end of the part number. That's it, no more no less.
In the event you do receive a NF68-AR EVGA will replace it with an A1 free of charge though.
EVGA rocks, I love them.
Don't get me started on Customer Service mate. Compared to ASUS, EVGA is GOLDEN ! I still have a P5N32E Plus I paid 199EUR that got broken like 6 weeks ago and I haven't heard a thing yet...

eVGA is an OC based company?
Well I was sitting on the fence between eVGA and ASUS, but I gotta go with the backyard boys now.
Gotta support the locals ya know! Not to mention everyone says they are the best for customer service and handling.
plus i think only eVGA offers advance RMA right?i might do the upgrade, terms of the memory is this a good one? Corsair 8500
Despite the glowing recommendations for the A1 version, as a person not really interested in either quad-core overclocking or the bundle, and calculate in the fact that before a 2-year warranty expires I would probably have a new motherboard anyway, would anybody endorse the NF63-TR as being a good buy? Is there anything this board doesn't do, aside from the quad core OC'ing, that the newer SKU's can do?
Any help on this is appreciated.
I've never worked with any boards that use that part number. But why not get the T1 version anyway? Why limit your options? You'll be able to pick up quad core processors on the cheap here before too long.
although most recommends the more complete evga 680i variant i choose the cheapest route.. TR nf-63 $149 AR, i hope i made the right decision, e6600 too on the bin..

is it tested/proven?

Well, none of the programs I use on the PC in my signature (at least the programs that don't pertain to gaming) are multi-core aware, and, therefore, no task performed on that PC would take good advantage of a quad-core CPU for the foreseeable future in it's own right. Also, I'm terrible at multi-tasking, so 2 CPU cores for home use is plenty as it is. Quad-core is overkill even for the enthusiast, and I see it being nothing more than another buzz-word marketing tool to lure in people who don't need it. I'll take quad-core more seriously sometime next year when it's more necessary for me to do so.
Taking the few above reasons into account, recognize both boards in question are essentially the same aside from the quad-core overclocking, and then calculate the NF63-TR is $159 and the NF68-T1 is $229. That extra $70 is more usefully spent on, say, a better graphics card than my last-gen-fantastic X1650 XT that I bought as a stop-gap before diving head-first into a DX10 card. Quad-core overclocking is a sacrifice I'm willing to make unless someone says this SKU is somehow shockingly god-awful in comparison to it's more expensive counterpart.
i just went to Microcenter and pick one up instead..thanks....A1 FTW???I hope....![]()
