evga 680i, e6600 & pc2-8500

Just curious as to whether pc2-8500 ram will assist me in OCing my 6600. My intended goal for my 6600 is about 3.6 - 3.8, which leaves me wondering which ram to slecet. The 8500 dominators seem like a good choice but am confused as to how the fsb and ram speed will work hand in hand. I'm looking for something good as I dont want my oc to be limited cause I was cheap on the ram. Any tips as to whats a good match, other than the pc2-6400 dominators cause apparently they use promos chips.
