Ok, guys I have been itching to replace the ATI 9800NP in my rig and pulled the trigger this weekend on an eVGA 600NU AGP. I picked it up from CC for $249 after rebate.

Quite impressive numbers

Stock 9800NP gave me these numbers

3DMark03 = 5127
3DMark05 = 2206

Stock 6800nu gave me these numbers:

3DMark03 = 8588
3DMark05 = 3428

After unlocking the other pipes and VS I got these numbers on the 6800

3DMark03 = 9361
3DMark05 = 3881

But, I am not done. I was able to OC this card ALONG with the unlocked pipes and VS to (375/815) and these were my numbers:

3DMark03 = 10536
3DMark05 = 4430

I am absolutley thirlled with the bang for the buck this card has added to my rig. I considred the 6600GT AGP card but opted to spend the extra ~$30 dollars for the 6800nu and couldn't be happier.

Pertinent System Info:

Abit NF7S
1GB 2700 Memory @ 184 FSB
AMD Mobile CPU @ 2.3GHZ
Drivers: XG 71.81

Been a LONG time since I owned an nVidia card, now it looks like it owns me.

Nice job...looks like you lucked out and got a great card.

I was always impressed with my ATi Radeon 9600Pro and when I got my X800Pro I found myself dissapointed with it's performance once it became general knowledge that the X800Pro was slower than the 6800GT. I got a 6800GT and never looked back. I noticed huge gains and some of the IQ issues that plagued my Nvidia cards in the past were gone.

I was REALLY worried about the 2D quality of this card.

ATI has exceeded nVidia cards in the past when it comes to 2D but I can't find anything wrong with the 2D on this 6800. It looks just like the ATI 9800 I gave up.

Cheers man.. sounds like you got a sweet deal there, I'm thinking of replacin my 9600XT in my AXP 3200+ with one of those... might get lucky too ;)
