i think im going to place my order today with the pcie 6800gt from evga... anyone suggest i dont get get it from someone else or is it worth the 660$ canadian....
 
How much is that in USD? But good choice.. :D You'll love your card..
 
im going to get it off ebay, its much cheaper than what i get for it at work
 
OT: I find the box for this card to be incredibly attractive. Anyone else sick of the ridiculous CG boobs with swords companies always plaster on their boxes to make it look cool? The subtle but professional look is much more attractive IMO.

Who the hell cares? It could just as well come in a brown paper bag as long as it's a good part. I'm not one of those weirdos who displays the boxes from their components all over their room.
 
Even though I agree that it's not really important (the box I mean) Is till don't like some of the odd boxwork. XFX always seemed to have nice looking work (with that robot dog thing and such) but I never liker Sapphires Alien or that silver chick person.

Don't get me wrong, I think some of it is pretty stupid looking, I could really just care less. I mean, they could put a turd on it, it's not going to change my decision whether I will buy it or not.

Aesthetics are a bigger part of sales then you apparently realize. For every informed buyer that doesn't give a damn about what the box looks like, there's probably 10 uninformed going by how the product is presented.

If you were presented with a choice of the same product, same price, but one had better box art, which one are you gonna go for? :)

Exactly, Ive had friends buy older cards for upwards for $100 because they said that "The box said "Fastest ram on the planet" or something/.//
 
Considering you can't even walk into a store and buy a high end video card today, I think in this case it means very little.

Not to mention your uninformed buyer would go for a box with a big, stupid cg character on it over the "subtle professional look."

Here's a pricematch I placed at NCIX. It got approved at $583.00 CAD too.

Edit: I just tried that link and it didn't work. I'll try to find it again.
