eVGA 6800GT & 3dMark05 (Something seems wrong...)

I just wanted to ask you guys...

I just got an eVGA 6800 GT and have been testing it with the graphics demos...

The problem is that I'm never getting above 20fps. In the second part of the Canyon Run I'm getting 1~2fps.

I know this is benchmarking software, but I don't think the card should be performing this poorly. Do these averages seem off to anyone else besides me?
 
What is your score? That's the main part that can tell us if it's borked or not. Also, after the 3D tests (which do run slow on stock speeds of most any single card out now, like ~20fps probably) it runs two CPU tests, one in teh canyon and the first test too, and those run 1-2fps. You're probably fine, but a score would help us decide that much better. ;)

There is definately something wrong.

I noticed it running rather slow in Desert Combat Final as well. Not terribly slow, but it was running almost exactly like my Radeon 9800 Non-Pro.
 
Well, my friend has a 6800GT and when he first got his computer he scored just below 4,000 on his 6800GT and a 3400+, so he had more CPU than you. But yes, you should probably have an extra 500 points I'd think seeing as how you have dual channel memory on socket 939 and you've overclocked a bit. A few things to note:

1. Your overclock is memtest and Prime95 stable correct?

2. You used driver cleaner when you switched your card?

3. You are running the newest drivers?

If all three of those are true, then I'm a bit confused...but I mean my card runs like 5,200 marks stock if I'm not mistaken, and I had to overclock / test out beta drivers / mess around with other stuff to get 6,000. The end all result is how it plays games, and I'm not sure how new or old Desert Combat Final is....some older games like Unreal Tournament plays really weird on my Ultra...no idea why, tried everything to fix it but it's jumpy. But I can play Counter-Strike: Source 1280x1024 4xAA 16xAF and average 60fps+ most of the time, depending what's going on.
 
I just switched to Nvidia so I'm not even sure what the latest drivers are. There seem to be a lot of options and everyone says something else is better.
 
71.89 are the newest official drivers from Nvidia.com.

76.10 and 76.44 from Guru3D are nice.

What brand and Wattage are your power supply?
Is your image setting in the Nvidia control panel set on Quality or High Performance?
Did you shutdown every single program you could before benching?
I even disconnect my internet from the wall so that I can disbale virus protection.

Use DriverCleaner to remove ATi's stuff from your computer in safe mode, then install the newest official drivers from nvidia.com. That should/might clear up some problems.
 
I have an X800 XL and it scores 47xx stock so there is definately something wrong with your setup. I suggest following the sticky thats on top of the Video Cards forum as it helped me out greatly.
 
I've been having performance issues anyways so I just completely formatted the computer.

Things has improved significantly...it scored 4785 this time without any tweaking at stock speeds.

I have the 71.89 drivers installed. Would you recommend the Guru drivers over these?

I remember seeing something about Nvidia users getting significant performance increases by using...Detonator drivers?
