Circuit city has this for $249 and I heard you can sofmod it to unlock the pipes so would it be like a Ultra or GT? And is this a good deal. neweggg is selling the same card for $289
 
I own a evga 6800, and its been a good card for me... as far as softmodding goes its hit or miss... I can unlock everything on mine but, choose to only unlock the extra vertex processor, and not the four extra pipes because they cause corruption in games... but some people have unlocked them with no problems... so its luck of the draw... but the price seems pretty good.

hey i was wondering aboutt he unlocking b/c i heard somebody say that they havn't been able to unlock pipes and everything b/c they have beene fixed?

if that is true would it be better to get a 6600 gt or ssumthin?
i doubt it is better but im not sure....
