I'm sure there are many posts like this but I just had to chime in.

This card is flat out amazing. My computer feels like a new machine. The card easily overclocks to ultra+ speeds. I have mine at 410/1120 and it only raises the temp on the gpu by a few degrees.

Playing Farcry, UT 2004, and Call of Duty on my PC can now be done at high resolutions, 4X AA, 8X AF, with all the goodies on and they run great. This card easily doubles my performance coming from a 9500 Pro flashed and overclocked to 9700 pro speeds.

Bring on D3 and HL2!

are you using the stock heatsink? what program are you using to overclock it?

I have the same card, and he is most likely using RivaTuner or Coolbits registry to overclock the card. I just run mine at 400/1100 and it idles at 59 degrees C and 62 degrees while running a game.

Only problem I've had is getting the stupid FarCry installation to proceed after disk 2. Ugh.

ROFL was about to tell you to update your sig xkilla =P I know those ti's are hard to let go hehe

i used the auto-oc tool and it took me to 420/1.14, totally stable. these gt's rock, i thought about waiting for a bfg oc model (20mhz oc out of the box) but apparently it doesn't matter because i've seen maybe 4 people in ALL the forums i've been looking at who haven't been able to get to at least ultra speeds regardless of the manufacturer. 20mhz seems insignificant now when all it takes is:

click
*wait*
apply

for a 70mhz oc

All the first batches are essentially Nvidia made, completely no differences hardwarewise. Only in the stickers and bios would you find differences. PNY, BGF, XFX, EVGA, and Albatron all currently use the exact same boards. Gainward uses a different cooler, and a red PCB, but the PCB itself exactly follows the reference design. Its really a moot point to talk about image quality or overclockability between brands of the 6800 GT, when they are all literally the same (except in the case of gainward where Im not sure of the different coolers overclocking benefits).

Im actually rather happy that they are the identical. I can remember some of the older Nvidia cards where individual makers put poor quality components on their boards to cut costs, making image quality or the board itself rather flaky. If I pay $400 for something I dont want it to be crap.

Perhaps in a few months when Nvidia isnt so closely watching the manufacturing process they can deviate and add more of their own touches, whether good or bad. Till then Im not sure brand name really matters outside of their technical support.

You should go to the Ubi Soft support forums and bitch about it....I have the same problem (except mine goes through all 5 cd's) and they won't admit it's their copy protection causing the problem.

I have the same card and I have had it for 3 days now. It is an amazing piece of hardware and I have not even overclocked it yet. :D
