First, let me start with I am NOT complaining about Vista, I love Vista, and I DO understand how it manages memory. Just after opening Task Manager, the amount of memory Sidebar was using seemed to be more then it needed to.

The system is still very fast, so I don't have any problems, I was just wondering if this is normal.

Does it have anything to do with my Uptime? It hasn't been shut off in a while.

And once again, I'm not complaining, just need a simple confirmation if this is normal or not.

Might have something to do with the number or type of widgets you have running on your side bar

Just the default weather, all cpu meter, wired network meter, and a gmail notifier.

As long as that sidebar memory is freed up once you start an application, then I would say it's normal. That's how it should work.
