This is weird everything on my monitor is PINKish, but the monitors menus are there normal color so this has me thinking is is something with the video card. I opened the comp up and saw the northbridge has no heatsink and it is a onboard video card so I'm thinking and hoping that it if I get a heatsink on it things will be ok. Any idea or am I barking up the wrong tree. BtW this is not my normal comp just on to use till I get my motherboard back but I need the color to work so I can finish a few essys. I have not got the thermal paste I ordered yet so was hoping for some ideas. Sorry this was so long winded.
 
I had this problem once but with green. Make sure that not too many of the pins on your monitor conector are missing and make sure it is plugged in all the way
 
Nothing overclocked and that was my first thought the cable was loose but nothin.
 
I checked back of the monitor and nothin and when I pushed it into place the cable move and then colors game back for a sec. So i started to play with it and it seems to be my monitor. If I move the colors will change back for a sec, I tryed another cable and same thing. Thanks alot for the help.

hehe, that would have to be one smart virus to screw with the color/hue on your monitor.

If all your connections are tight, it could be loose inside the monitor or the entire monitor is starting to die.
 
yes, i have that same problem, the wire of your monitor, fold that shit, untill it goes back to normal colors. play with it. or even better, get a new monitor.
 
So I called tech support and there nothing they can do its over 3 years old so not covered anymore. I was able to get the color back to normal but shaking the cable around till the color got right. Ill open her up and see what I can do. Thanks for all the help.
 
Same thing happen to my old Mag monitor, we thought it was dead... after two years i just cracked the case on it because it was still in my basement, sprayed all the dust out and now it works like a charm again.
 
becareful of what you do inside a moniter, they can hold enough charge to KILL YOU. let it set unplugged for a week before you do anything...

that is NOT necessarily going to fully discharge those capacitors. Basic rule when working inside monitors, don't touch anything. At all. Just blow out the dust and be done with it. Especially don't touch that suction-cup dealy that goes to the top of the monitor...you know, that friendly little rubber one...

As far as your color problem, lay off the acid maybe?;)

thats not going to do anything, monitors can hold power for years, well at least tvs can.

if you dont know what you are doing, dont touch it.

one week won't necessarily make it "safe," monitors can hold a charge for months/years at times. you can look up guides on discharging the monitor, take it to a TV repair shop and have them discharge it, OR just be REALLY careful and DO NOT touch the suction cup thing on the tube, that's where the charge will get you. Just be careful if you take it appart. I'd really probably suggest reading a guide on how to safely discharge the monitor and do it yourself if you don't want to take it to the TV repair. Just remember a couple bucks is well worth it when your life is at hand ;) Be careful, goodluck :)

I second it - don't touch anything and you'll be just fine...
 
I had the exact same problem but much much worse because it was a different color depending on which way the cord was bent (never the right one) I settled on blue for a while until I finally got around to soldering on a new connector. I almost got it right but when I finished it was teal so I gave it to a professional and it works fine now.

me > electricty. i love the power:eek: or instead of sterilizing yourself:eek: you could just wear long rubber gloves and avoid getting shocked that way. rubber > me > electricty. i like rubber:p
