Pretty much any computer is capable to use one. Some more efficiently then others. They can run off a SATA 1, 2 or 3 port. If the PC doesn't have SATA, you could probably add a SATA card into a PCI slot.
I have a PATA SSD. They exist.
My mobo that i currently have is this one http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=2324#ov it says something about ATA II is it same like SATA II?Will this mobo be enough for an ssd?
Also will i see a big difference in overall performance?
That board has 4 Serial ATA II/3GB/s ports so as long as you have one open, you're good for adding a SSD.
So i need to buy a sata II ssd or a sata iii will do the same trick? If i buy sata iii and just reads/writes slower then no problem because this ssd can be used in future for a better desktop.

Yeah, but they're mostly old and not very good, and can't easily be reused in an upgrade. IMO worth buying even a cheap $20 SATA card and using a SATA SSD over using a PATA SSD.
