Ever going to see higher than "32 Bit" Color?

That's nice, but can people actually tell the difference between 32-bit and anything higher? The OP claims to be able to tell this difference, good for you. However, from what I know, most scientific studies conclude that most people cannot tell the difference.....
 
With 32 bit colors, typically there are 8 bits per primary color and 8 bits for the alpha channel.

If you have a large gradiant area of a primary color, it will only be able to display 256 distinct intensities of the color. I haven't tried it but you might see some banding if you look closely at the borders of the gradient intensities.

However, in real life, rarely do you have a color that a pure primary colors, it's usually mixed with the other channels where banding is less noticeable.
