I pretty much cant install cat 8.8 on my system. It will always just go blank after boot and I have to revert to 8.7. I would be Ok with 8.7 but settings I force in CCC dont seem to work well and transparency AA seems to like making things transparent.

Yes my bios is flashed. Yes I did use the one that came on the card, just with modified fan and clock settings.

Have you tried running Driver Sweeper in safe mode and then installing the new drivers before rebooting?

Only thing I can add is that I was unable to uninstall or install while in Safe Mode, for some reason it has to be fully booted. Running Vista x64.

have you tried going to control panel, system (skip if you have vista), device manager, open the video adapter tab, right click on on your video card, uninstall, reboot, intall drivers, reboot, and see if that helps.

Yup, I uninstalled with ati software removal utility, rebooted, used driver cleaner pro,.... No luck. Guess ill just have to pray the next release works for me? Ive never had this problem before, even when I got lazy and didnt clean my drivers. This is a relatively fresh vista 32 install too, the 8.7s were the first drivers ever installed on it. 8.8s would have been the second set.

Could be your monitor is not getting properly setup with the 8.8s. Try another monitor if you have one. You could always try the betas as well. Also try plugging your monitor in the other DVI connection.

Uninstall the drivers
reboot
clean up with driver cleaner pro...
reboot
Hit f8 and boot into VGA mode and install Cat 8.8...
Now reboot back to normal mode... Works ;)

i had the same problem and found out the new cats dont like our modified bio's. Mine is flashed is yours? i see your running non stock clocks thats why im asking. if so thats the culprit.
