I'm looking to get some opinions on people who have some of the hardware or can give me suggestions on what you think I can do to maybe save some money.. or get the best bang for the buck. I'm looking to purchase all the hardware @ newegg.com so i put it on a wish list to make it easy for anyone looking to help me out.

It's for a middle aged uncle who's looking to just surf the web, listen to some music, spend some time on his computer maybe watching a few movies, playing a few games like Red Alert, and stuff like that.

That looks like a great setup. It looks like you've shaved off cost where you could but still have some good hardware in there. I'd say stick with what you have.

I'd spend the extra $40 on a 9800pro vs the 9600xt. Even if you don't it's still more than enough for what he wants to do. Your uncle will probably fill his pants the first time he uses it.
