Had a batch of EUE errors on my 9800GT this morning while I was out drinking and partying it up for Halloween :p

Something I should be worried about? I restarted the client this morning and it's working on a 5771 just fine right now.

Code:

[05:55:29] CoreStatus = 7A (122)

id check your temps or overclock. those specific WU's are very picky about clocks.

Default clocks. Card is at 81-85C at full load. You think it's just getting too hot? I've been running it 24/7 pretty hard for the past few months.

if your at 81-85C on a 5771 then yeah id say it got to hot and EUE'd on the 660x WU for sure. might be time to dust out that heatsink. i have to dust out my 8800GS's every 2-3 weeks because of how narrow the spaces are between the fins. in that 2 weeks my full load temps will jump almost 15C. where as the gtx 260 i had i only dusted out maybe once every couple months since the heatsink was so much larger.

Thanks. I may just look into an aftermarket cooler if I don't replace this card soon. The little fan that's on it is noisy as hell at 100% and it likes to cycle from 80% to 100% so you notice it a lot more.

huh interesting.. my 8800GS's even with their crazy overclock have never gone above 45% fan speed.. they basically sit at a constant 75C since thats the fan increase point.

as far as aftermarket cooling, take a look at the thermaltake duorb cooler. awesome heatsink for the 9 series cards and you should be able to get a REALLY nice overclock using it. ran my 8800GT with the 1.1v mod at 760/1890/1050 in F@H. never went above 60C and that was on a 110+ degree day. it has dual 80mm fans and is quiet even though people complain about it being loud. i never heard it even in a completely silent room.

Wouldn't hurt to clean the case/fans with canned air if you haven't done so in a while. When one of my 8800GTS EUE's, that's usually the cause.
